New Guide Available for Delivering Coupons through Health Plans
The topic of Health and Wellness has become very prevalent with the increased emphasis on Obesity and Health Care costs from Governmental, Retail and Consumer perspectives. This has resulted increased focus within Retailers as the destination for Health & Wellness related to food purchases, Brands who in advance of any regulatory actions to conform to USDA guidelines are re-formulating existing products and introducing new Better-for-You Brands and line extensions, as well as, Health Plans who are incentivized by the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to provide better outcomes for their members. Increasingly both Retailers and CPG Brand marketers are seeking viable channels to promote their ‘Better-for-You’ offerings and Health Plans are desirous of promoting better choices in the foods their members eat as well. This intersection provides manufacturers and retailers with an opportunity to promote their Better-for-You Brands through Healthy Plans.
The ACP recognizing the changes in the marketplace launched an exploratory task force to determine if there was a need to develop a guide for manufacturers, retailers and their supporting solution providers to help companies traverse these new areas of opportunity. The expertise and desire was there and the health and wellness guide “Delivering Coupons through Health Plans” was developed.
